S275 Structural Steel to EN 10025-2
S275 steel to EN 10025-2: JR, J0 and J2 qualities, thickness-dependent strength and Charpy requirements.
EN 10025-2
Technical specifications
S275 structural steel to EN 10025-2 is a non-alloy steel for hot-rolled products and welded fabrications. Specify the quality designation as well as the grade.
| Property | Specification |
|---|---|
| Reference standard | EN 10025-2 covers hot-rolled non-alloy structural products. |
| Quality examples | S275JR, S275J0 and S275J2. |
| Minimum yield strength | 275 MPa at a nominal thickness of ≤16 mm. |
| Tensile strength | 410–560 MPa at a nominal thickness of 3–16 mm. |
| Charpy quality designations | JR: 27 J at +20 °C; J0: 27 J at 0 °C; J2: 27 J at −20 °C. |
Applications
Structural frames, beams, profiles and load-bearing fabrications.
Strength depends on thickness. Charpy values apply to full-size specimens; JR impact verification must be specified at enquiry/order.
