Cold-drawn tubes for heat exchangers
BWG / AVERAGE WALL / MINIMUM WALL
Description and supply details
Delivery conditions
- Depending on their intended use, tubes can be supplied in the following condition:
- ANNEALED (GBK)
- NORMALISED (NBK)
- For the conditions referred to in points 1 and 2, it should be noted that heat treatment is carried out in controlled-atmosphere furnaces. As a result, the surfaces are completely free of oxide. Unless otherwise specified in the enquiry or order, we supply seamless tubes in the annealed condition (in a controlled atmosphere).
- Steel: all tubes are manufactured from the carbon steels specified by the manufacturing standards. Alloy steels are available on request.
- Lengths: cold-drawn seamless steel tubes can be supplied in the following lengths:
- Fixed lengths: with tolerances according to the manufacturing standard.
- Maximum tube length: 12 mt.
- Lengths greater than 12 mt. on request.
- Inspections and tests: the quality of the final inspection is ensured by the following examinations and checks:
- Electromagnetic non-destructive testing on 100% of the hollows to be drawn;
- Mechanical and technological tests according to the manufacturing standards;
- Electromagnetic non-destructive testing on 100% of the drawn tubes.
- Certifications: an inspection certificate is normally issued according to the manufacturing standards.
- Marking: depending on the product type, tubes may be marked continuously along their entire length with indelible ink, or an identification tag may be attached to the bundle during packaging.
- Protection: to preserve the product, the internal and external surfaces are oiled with a fluid-film protective oil, unless otherwise specified by the customer.
- Packaging: tubes are normally packed in round or hexagonal bundles with a mass not exceeding 2000 kg., bare or wrapped in polyethylene-coated jute cloth, and strapped over polyethylene bands. An identification tag is attached to every bundle.
